Heavy Duty Package and Rear Lock Differential

Do anyone knows the part number for this? Is it a kit to install in the differential or is it a complete differential change?

My dealer does not know anything about it.

Looking at the Landroverusa.com website the Heavy Duty package is a selectable option and contains: Electronically Controlled, Infinitely Variable Locking Rear Differential plus Full-Size Spare Tire and Alloy Wheel.

As mtb said the e-diff is factory fitted and not available as dealer fitted.

HEAVY DUTY PACKAGE REAR LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL

OK I am crazy looking for info on this subject. This is what I found. Dealers offer the Heavy Duty PAckage which comes with full size spare alloy wheel and tire and the rear locking differential. If you are serious about off roading, is a must.

Now, My dealer in PR does not know Censored about it. I went to the parts manager and he gave me the parts number for the items. I saw the diagrams And I deduce that the stock differential has a slot and plate to install on top of it a selenoid or motor that activates the lock. The question that no one could not answered is if I buy the motor, the lock will operate. Does my LR3 comes equipped with the harnesses, software, etc to operate the lock? These are the numbers.

TVK500200 about $916.17 lock motor
TVK500290 differential assembly with lock
TVK500260 differential assembly w/out lock.

PLEASE HELP. I WANT THE REAR LOCK!!!

I wouldn't go as far as saying its essential either.

If your serious about off roading then the standard D3 is plenty good if you know what your doing.

Tyres are the biggest issue, not whether you have a rear diff fitted or not.

Try climbing rocks with one wheel in the air. The electronic traction has failed on me. It is very good, but with the lock is a whole different scenario.

But that does not mean that one could installed one succesfully. My concern is the electrical and electronic connection.

I don't know what are you referring to, but the whole purpose of the forum is to help others. If you don't have the technical answers to why it cannot be done, you shouldn't be posting senseless frases!!!

Duplicate topics merged. As far as I am aware, nobody has ever retro fitted a Locking Rear Diff to a D3. We are not saying it is impossible, but we have no idea if it can be done.

You would be very popular with lots of members of the forum if you can work out how to do this modification I am sure.

You have the part numbers, so why not give it a go Thumbs Up

It is factory fit only... like the sat nav.

And yes, probably software and integration with the other vehicle systems that makes it so. There are many things LR can do in the factory that no dealer or independent specialist can do.

And driving with no rear diff is not a problem. Of course better fitted but not the end of the world without it. Change your driving style and pick your route more carefully.

Someone like TFC would know for sure TBH.

providing they have made at least some attempt at finding an answer and not be spoon fed as you wish. and as for seneless phrases (that's how its spelt) there are other cultures outside the us, take an interest. this has been discussed before and the answer you seek has already been posted.
