Why not? is it bacause of the software or are you just guessing?
Ask yourself if the leading forum website for the discovery 3 would be aware if a retro fit locker was available? Just to prove my memory correct ... I have searched through the site (yes, I used the search feature ) and yes there are those that have said it can be done ...but todate no one has achieved this.
Why don't you be the first to prove our negative responses wrong ? Hope you can put it back together chap 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

but the whole purpose of the forum is to help others. If you don't have the technical answers to why it cannot be done, you shouldn't be posting senseless frases!!!
providing they have made at least some attempt at finding an answer and not be spoon fed as you wish. and as for seneless phrases (that's how its spelt) there are other cultures outside the us, take an interest. this has been discussed before and the answer you seek has already been posted. USE THE SEARCH FACILITY
I did search including five more LR3 forums. No one has the answer on how to do it or why can't be done. Someone after reading my post will find the answer, post it, and we all be happy.
I am sorry if I offended your english, but my dictionary has senseless. Don't worry about it. You know what I meant. Believe me. I will do it like I 've done it in the past. Have you ever use a wrench in your life?
I am not from the US. And is not a culture problem, is the person what makes the difference. I am sure that in your culture there are far better people than you.

Thanks DG, I will try. Back home there are many people who like the challenge and from the diagrams I saw today apparently it can be done. I am sure that when a knowledgeable mechanic from a dealer read this, we will have some answers. Thank you.

I work with my hands and tools for a living (and am f###ing good at it).your flag and pushy nature suggests you are from the US (change it). of course there are far better people than me which is why I search forums like this for my answers and because of that I know the answer but due to your poor attitude will not assist you.

Im sure that physically fitting the
diff wouldnt be difficult, the problem is that without
Terrain Response the computer will not know
when to lock the diffPete
I assume that since yours in a 's' model it has coils? If so, like Norto said, it won't work anyway as it needs TR to function.
That would require complete reinstall of the canbus and other electronic thingy's, wouldn't it?.
In other words, it may be easier and cheaper to buy a new D3.
(As an aside, IMO, there's a bit too much agression creeping in to this forum lately. I think that if folk's haven't got anything nice or helpful to say (jokes aside), they shouldn't post)Have a nice day!

In Australia, when we don't like the attitude of of the person making the comment, we say "get ". I say this to you.
