Body raised slightly.
Hi guys I have been trying to attempt to tackle the crossover pipe on my tdv6, I have tried to follow trex-on's forum in order to do this but with only having a bluepoint socket set the pipe has seemed to defeat me. Due to the lack of space up in the passenger side gap where the manifold is located and the slight bend on cop. My question is and I have done many searches on the net to no avail. Is it possible or has anybody ever managed to remove the chassis to body bolts in order to lift the body a few ml (i dont have access to a 2 post lift) just to gain that little bit more room for removal or not thanks.

Yes you can slacken the body mounting bolts and Jack up the body a little. I had to do this to get access to the rear anti roll bar bushes. Worked a treat.

when i had my cam belts done by a good indi local to me they said its easy to do the rear belt if you loosen the front body mounts but obviously you need a lifting ramp for this to work
edit- nothing was removed to do this just the normal parts to change the belt (think an inch or two is all that was needed to make a hard job easier)
when i got the car back i had a very good check of it and could only see that the body mounts from the front doors forward had been loosenedplease excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

HI eightfoot.
I know this is an old thread, but I wondered if you ever managed this. I'm currently in the process of removing the COP and I'm defeated by the top bolt passenger side too.
I do have access to a 4-post ramp and I'm considering body removal but with this type of ramp it's not ideal. I was wondering if raising the body slightly rather than entirely was of any help?
