Hi again all
Looking to buy the kit and tools...
I see two types of locking tool kits, plus a cam insert tool and what looks like a plastic and aluminium bullet shape tool.... seal installer and insert are the names
Do I need all of these? That’s like £300 of tools!
I’ve got the aux fan spanners, bags of tools, drill and socket kit etc
Was hoping it would just be the locking tool kit needed?

The above is the locking kit you'll want/need, also if you really want the Flywheel locking tool. Others have said that it's not required, so it's up to you about the last tool, although I choose to buy and use it when I was doing mine.
The "special tools" for inserting the oil seal is really up to you, if you have a big enough socket I guess that'll work too.

If you buy the Victor reinz seal it comes with its own insertion tool to get it on the shaft.Andrew

The Sealey VSE3000a kit contains not only the tools that you need but several others.
2 of the black components, and I suspect the black clip, are for use on PSA, (Peugeot), engines.
The Sealey list price for the tools you actually need, cam wheel locking pins (2), cam alignment checking pin and flywheel locking pin, (manual), no box, total just over £26 but you would need to locate a source and probably pay postage.
Boxes containing these parts plus an extra crankshaft locking pin (automatic) are available on eBay for £19 inc p+p but as advised before the crankshaft locking pins have been found to be slightly oversized and require grinding or filing down about 0.1mm.
I have no idea whether Sealey tools are also oversized but recall that unbranded sets in blue boxes were reported as right size. I see that AF have blue boxed sets at £64. No recommendation or guarantee. Myself I think that I would go eBay and fettle.
Perhaps someone else can advise on their experience of Sealey, eBay red and AF blue.

The sealant, (available from AF) is used between the base of the pump and the sump.
AF used to have a link to a very good description of how to fit the oil pump and crankshaft seal but it nolonger works. May be from LR or other documentation and copyright.

Hi could one if you please kindly confirm these are the components needed to complete the front timing belt job?
Also the viscous fan tool and general tools
I’m thinking do the front part due to priority. And back belt and water pump I can do when I’ve got spare money. As they won’t write the car off if breaks.
Presuming the rear belt and water pump wouldn’t require opening up the aux fan, removal of front belts? And it can be done separate?

Good plan.
A 25 nm torque wrench is the most important from memory to do tensioner bolt
Red kit maybe cheaper on eBay ?

Just out looking for torque now
And red kit needs filing down off eBay cheap doesn’t it? Might end up cutting it a bit too far as I’m heavy handed

Fair enough.
You also need a crank seal (don’t go cheap on this) and crank bolt.
