Strange but annoying noise
Can somebody please point me in the right direction?
As the title suggests, there is a annoying noise coming from my D3 09 HSE.
Unfortunately I can’t pinpoint it but it’s as if one of the tyres has an egg in it or I’m driving on speed strips that lead up to a junction.
I’ve had the tracking done, tyres balanced and all 4 corners have had new discs and pads but still the noise. Plus everyone one who’s worked on it has said everything is ok.
Any suggestions where to go next or what it could be would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance BoBo

Cheers sea raider, how can I identify which wheel bearing or is it a case of doing the front pair then rear?
Sounds an expensive job, before I ask google or the D3 search engine, how big a job is it and a ball park figure on price?
Cheers BoBo

You'll need to identify which wheel its coming from.
I just replaced my nearside front hub from Advanced factors think it was about £72
I got the Optimal one with a 4 year guarantee

Normally in these 'annoying noise' threads, some one will pipe up 'it's SWMBO in the passenger seat' !
Thought I'd get in first! Richard

Sat in work and looking up as much information I can prior to changing the front wheel bearings.
I've read somewhere, but I cant find it again, that you can take the brake calliper and the holder of in one? now have I read that wrong or can it come of complete and hang up out of the way?
Cheers in advance

Cheers Cable, I watched another one from them but it was on the RR sport and they didn't make it clear.
Going to do both sides, in for a penny and all that and it's not as if i'm doing anything at the moment
Cheers for the info

Yes, you could take the carrier and caliper off in one, but you'll have the brake pads in the caliper still. It's not much effort to take the caliper off first, then remove the brake pads, then take the carrier off. Richard

Cheers Richard, what i'm thinking is because i'm doing both sides it would save time and knowing me and my fat fingers i would loose the copper spring/clip of the brake sensor

Cheers John, already read it about 4 or 5 times, it's the sensor I have problems with and my fat fingers
