We are in a similar situation.
In France with judder when towing van, no judder van less.
Going for ferry this morning, I found sport auto best, then if judder too bad giving the gas a blast, gets through the judders then ease off and drive with light foot after.
Also found it improves mpg Thumbs Up
I guess new TC on shopping list soon.

Hmmm got a slight judder on steep hill tonight without the van, so going to spend a day longer here, sadly missing the Normandy day, and going for 50 miles to Roscoff rather than 650 to Rotterdam. Means there will be a big UK slog, but recovery in the UK will be loads easier on the off chance it’s needs.

Thanks again for all the help Thumbs Up

Has been best holiday ever here Thumbs Up

Made it back to the UK. Phew. Bit of a slog tomorrow from Plymouth up to Yorks - but no big deal in the scheme of things.

Managed to find a decent caravan site 6 miles from Plymouth, so the kids will wake up tomorrow with a great view of the Plymouth Sound (decent of the wardens to let me arrive at 10pm unattended)

Was getting judders on route a fair bit up to Roscoff, but actually using Command Shift to avoid dropping the revs too low seemed to cope with it.

Had a couple of gearbox faults - one was on a big hill on the E60, thanks goodness for the IID tool!!!

Had best holiday ever, and actually ended up thinking you can get a failed TC in any auto, but the advice on the forum on the Dr Tranny and the IID meant the difference between enjoying our time whilst there and making the ferry - so actually not a bad car to be in overall!

Thanks again for all the help!
