Temporary loom made ready for my OBD plug to arrive so I can test before I pull everything out - Just in case it:
a) doesn't work in a D4 2014 as I expect,
b) test the unit before taking the bumper off!

Is that the plug and cable you got from the site shop?- interested as it appears to be the correct colour. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Hello.
I asked Martin to source the plug, cables and connectors a few weeks ago I think as LR couldn't as it didn't appear on the parts even though it is "repairable"
Drop him a PM as they are not available in the shop yet. It will just be the parts (or whatever you ask for) mind and you have to make the connector up yourself so will need a decent/proper crimp tool.
I specifically asked for the correct colours and again Martin supplied them no probs. You can do it in whatever colours you like through, but the cost is the same so why not do it properly? you can get the connector and cables from elsewhere but I would say get them from one place - i.e. Martin
The colours and locations are in one of my earlier post.

Rainy day today so I fitted my radar. I have an FPLA model with the RR bracket so I had to cut the tabs off. I used rivnuts to secure it to the car packed out with two washers to stop the connector fouling.
An easy job using videos from PowerfulUK to remove the grill, headlights, wheel arch trim and then the bumper.
I just need the switch pack (ordered from local LR on Friday and access to the full CCF list (requested Friday too) to test it and see if it requires a re-flash. I suspect it will.
A few pics for inspiration...

I connected mine with my new cable on Friday to send the ECU config to Pat for the firmware.
Feeling impatient I squeezed the car in the garage and configured the CCF file as per the required....lots of errors since doing that and even after changing the config back they wont go away!
If you don't have a cable (i.e. an early vehicle) I would be very cautious about doing it in case you get what I have as currently they wont go away so need Pat's help which at the earliest will be Monday afternoon assuming he isn't super snowed under.
I posted about the error on another thread - invalid VIN causing all the issues. Feel free to tell me how to fix

Hello.
No I didn't have the cable. Mine is a 2014 and I made one up.
I have just disconnected the battery in a vain hope that will clear it and will see what happens. Got the battery on charge just in case too but it was on a BSU.
Don't really want to restore my day one CCF file unless Pat tells me to as will never know the issue.
I took the CCF config off before finishing to compare with one I took some weeks ago after my tow ball config so I shall do a stare and compare on that too.
Cheers. In today's world, if you contribute something, you don't contribute enough. If you contribute nothing, you receive everything.

I also had the vin mismatch when I did mine but it didn`t cause as many issues as you are having. Once
had done the reflash it matched the vin on the acc radar to my own vin. I think the reflash will sort out all your issues (If there are no issues with the wiring) I currently had a vin mismatch due to some other tinkering I am doing but it is not causing any issues or causing any faults. It can be scary to have as many faults showing up and you have a Sh*t what have I done feeling but hang in there!

Yes it is the "Oh No Nano Second" followed by " how do I fix this"
The wiring is OK because it recognised it on the CAN when I did the ECU search.
What worries me is that the reversal has done nothing ;( I always like a back-out plan.In today's world, if you contribute something, you don't contribute enough. If you contribute nothing, you receive everything.

Fixed the majority of my issues last night with the FW from GAP and a restore of my CCF settings.
Wasn't without issue mind as the tool/app stopped responding when I sent the ACC CCF settings and I got many dozens of faults. Took about 5 mins for the tool to time-out which was more than a bit worrying. After I got the message "Upload Failed" on the app I turned off the IGN, removed the tool and tried again with only half the settings at a time and the faults all cleared.
It is still on temporary wiring and not fitted behind the bumper yet so can't calibrate it and I have a "Cruise not available" which isn't so good and a fault which seems to be from the radar unit I fitted. Probably an additional CCF setting that is different on earlier models.
Hope to get it fitted on the weekend and I'll update. No going back now
If I were to do it again I believe the order should be;
1. fit the radar,
2. plug in IID, IID config, find ECUs
3. scan ECUs
4. buy Fast Lane service and email ECU results to Gap and await FW
5. update the IID tool with the custom FW
6. flash FW
7. configure the ACC settings.
8. calibrate it.
Bear in mind that with Christmas coming you will probably want to get the FW for your ECU early if you have one.
<edit> I was reading the manual here and found this was of interest:
If a fault with ACC or any related system occurs
at any other time, the message CRUISE NOT
AVAILABLE will be displayed. It will not be
possible to activate ACC in any mode.
so once I fit it properly and calibrate it this should go away.[/url]In today's world, if you contribute something, you don't contribute enough. If you contribute nothing, you receive everything.

^^^ Good to hear.
Slightly different question, I take it the radar obviously scans and does its job through the bumper but I don't suppose anyone knows if it still works if the front number plate was also mounted across this area just a couple of inches in front of the the sensor mount and how sensitive it would be to additional lighting, although this is not directly in front of the radar more above it?
I have also seen a couple Radars off a Range Rover Sport that are FPLA and the same ref number do we know if these are suitable?
Many thanks D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo
