You really need to disconnect the big plug at the bottom of the Ecu. You are looking for corroded pins in the plug. I have not got a picture but it's been an issue before.

this is the ecu behind the battery

the cover was hanging off , is fiddly but spent time to ensure it was all re installed correctly
