Servicing D3
About to order the service kit from AF, then going to ask a friendly neighbourhood Woody to do it, but got me thinking, how hard is it to do myself and any special tools needed?
Kit comes in at £78, but wandering if it'll need to be jacked up or any odd little tool to pull something off etc Iggy/Ieuan

Very simple, Ieuan
You will likely need to lift the front of the car up a bit to improve access to the sump drain plug (unless you're going down the suction route?). You'll also need to lift the driver's side to gain better access to the fuel filter (if you're doing that as well).
A torque wrench is required to torque the sump drain plug and oil filter housing to 25Nm.
Be careful of the fuel leak off pipes when you remove/refit the oil filter housing; they are extremely brittle. Also make sure you locate the oil filter spigot into the oil cooler correctly before putting the housing back on top of the filter.
Probably the most time consuming part is removing the metal under-tray. Apart from that, it's a doddle.

Cheers Steve
Already got a Torque wrench on order, should be here soon, will look through the list of other items (picking up 3T axle stands tomorrow)......
So no decision yet, some very deep breaths needed first, but may have a go next week Iggy/Ieuan

Easy to do. As said get engine up to temp then drain the oil, rembering to turn the engine off. Leave this to drain while doing all the other bits

Get some small elcheapo long nose pliers and bend the fingers inwards in a vice makes it easy to unclip the fuel hoses from the filter.
