Enabling reversing camera automatically |
|
the previous owner of my vehicle fitted a reversing camera but it only works when you go into that severt menu and press about 14 buttons or something.
Is there a quick easy way to get it to work automatically when I go into reverse?

The best way ( if you have the factory fitted screen ) is to buy a GVIF but they ain't cheap.
There is another option, to run the car in Range Rover mode which involves cutting a link in the back of the screen and having the camera enabled with diagnostic kit so it knows it has a camera fitted but there are other drawbacks to using this option. Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.
Wing Mirror Indicator Repeaters.
Long Roof Rails

More details here if you fancy the challenge: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic116773.html
To be honest, the factory screen is not the best. The nav is a bit dated and you can't get a genuine update for it and add-ons are hellishly expensive due to the price of a GVIF unit. You do get the 4x4 info however.
Aftermarket offers loads more options IMO as detailed here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic62936.html Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.

fitting D4 screen in D3 is easy from my experience. Changing screens might be cheaper than buying GVIF unit. Disco 3 HSE (55) - gone
