I've gotta say one advantage of Aldi is the random 'special offers' that you don't get anywhere else, such as the long handled axe or chainsaw Shocked

We never use bags if we have a trolley sized shop, shop goes straight back into the trolley out to the D3 and loaded into folding crates, one for the fridge, one for fruit and veg and another for dry goods, nice and simple.

Is this an 05 V8 HSE thing as so do we!

We were in Lidl last week, fit bird in short skirt bent over to reach something, found out she had a thong!!

Unexpected benifit!

You can really slow down the checkout operator if you rub the barcodes on a few items with one of these UV light pens before you join the queue. They have to type the numerals of the code in manually so you get time to pack!

I like answering the Self Service tills when they talk to me:

"Have you scanned your Clubcard?"

"I haven't got a Clubcard."

"Have you scanned your Clubcard?"

"Look, aren't you listening to what I'm telling you..."

Other shoppers think I'm mad. Which has the benefit of keeping them well away from me. Laughing

I don't mind a self-serve checkout for a few bits and especially if I'm not in the mood to interact with anyone.

Pro-tip: Next time you use one, look for the volume button at the bottom of the touch screen. Hit Start and then that, set it to mute and scan your shopping in smug bliss whilst those around you get electronically nagged Laughing Thumbs Up

With regards to Aldi, I think fair-do's you know what you're getting into. My mantra is pretty much "Scan it as fast as you like love, I'm not paying until I've packed it."

Is it just me or does Aldi's stance on not putting your shopping in carrier bags at the till really get my fecking backup Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

They insist on scanning your items so fast you just don't have time to pack them and when you ask them to slow down they say its policy not to pack into bags at the till

I'm the Censored customer here and I'll decide how I pack my bags you bunch of Censored muppets.

End of rant.
I use Aldi and lidel all over Europe for at least 7 months a year and have never had a problem at the cheque out, sounds like a UK problem. : Confused
