Thud And we wonder why LR are going soft. This is what these cars are born to do, climbing rocks not kerbs outside a school.

If I could get a an ex LRE FFRR V6 or V8 not fussy at the right price my Disco would be sold in a flash.

It might be built for this, but why choose one that has been, when there are so many used LR's of all kinds that haven't done a stroke of work?

I can understand the appeal of a FFRR Thumbs Up

LRE vehicles might be a risk in some cases but you can just as easy end up with a lemon from elsewhere....you know that low miler 3 month old dream is really a rejected motor following a heap of trouble for a private buyer... Crying or Very sad

I reckon that's why there is so many wrecked gearboxes and short term engine failures as there not doing any miles. Gearbox oil especially, I've seen some low milage D3's with badly emulsified gearbox oil.
I swear it doesn't help these vehicles by not using them. I agree but I wouldn't be rushing to buy a used LRE one, I also wouldn't be rushing to buy one that hasn't done a stroke.

I'm not afraid of a little use (30,000 miles pa myself), but when I said "stroke of work", I was meaning proper hard work, as in the photos Very Happy

These are my TVRs the Chimaera I've had for 14 years and no issues, the Tamora (Trigger's Broom) I rescued from NL last year and so far it's had a Full upgraded engine, gearbox all suspension, battery, starter, power steering overhaul, etc etc but I love it & I expect most LR owners will get it Smile I am hoping by spending a bit more on a Newer Disco I won't have to spend quite as much on ongoing repairs??

When we did the LRE we were talking to the driver with us and he said, all LRE cars go back to LR for full check and they replace anything that needs or shows signs of wear and they all come out with a warranty so why worry

I have seen one at a non LR dealer it's high spec but they've had it for nearly 6 months! The second owner only kept it for 5 months before that, which is what started me thinking and doing some digging in here. Tbh it being sat around for 6 months in a warm showroom was possibly the worst bit, as mechanicals like to be used and rust loves a nice warm environment to fester. I am in no massive rush so will let this one pass, plenty more LR in the sea (mud!). Cheers for making me feel welcome and not flaming me, as you get on many forums nowadays Mr. Green
