Bluetooth Unit not working post Flash with IIDtool
Morning all,
I recently fitted a bluetooth unit to my D3 and all was working fine apart from needing to re-pair my phone with the 2121 code each time the car restarted.
Thinking it was a software issue I connected up my IID BT tool and flashed it from the TEL-bluetooth section (assuming this would drop on the latest version of the software). It failed with the code E4 and now I can't pick it up to pair with it.
Has anyone run into this before?
thanks
Colin

Sounds like you have the original Bluetooth set up not one of the later kits as once you pair it once then there is no need to do it again as mine was after I bought one from Geoff on here as you have updated the software to the latest bluetooth you may need to either go back to original spec or check that all the software is set correctly in the ccf that cellular docking station etc Discovery 3 se gone

IIRC, the BT modules do fail from time to time when flashing (albeit the results not being so bad like others) and can't be recovered. I may be wrong though.

I've emailed GAP - hopefully they will have some ideas on how to bring it back to life!

I've tried a couple of times and the same result each time. It estimates 41 minutes and errors within a couple of minutes.
The Bt modules are fragile and I have hve a few units fail on me when updating them, its fooked you need a new D4 one, as I have never been able to recover one of these from a bad flash.

I do suspect I might end up with the same fault code if i try and flash the bt module in my D3 with an IIDTool. I havent got the IIDTool yet, gettin it tomorrow.
I have tried flashing it with SDD and Faultmate. It has been flased before with faultmate by a forum member here, but I fail to flash it. Pat is aware of my / this problem. So tomorrow the fun begins.

Thanks to the team at GAP I'm back in action. For those interested in what the problem was (and it was user error as opposed to a problem with the tool) please see below:
My BT unit is from a Disco4 - this cannot be flashed with the IID tool. It is on a different address so it can't even communicate to it let alone damage it.
I had a configuration issue in the CCF. It should be set to:
Bluetooth = Bluetooth enabled
Cellular telephone = Cellular telephone docking station, with bluetooth
Voice control = Fitted with voice control (hosted via the multi-media module)
Once these setting were in place everything was as it should be.
Thanks again to Pat and the team
