I should have mentioned in my last post that it was a Dayco belt so it's been replaced

I have also checked the oil pump casing to see if its cracked causing the tensioner to run out of true, it looks fine and it's a 2005 so it's the old stronger type

When I put it back together I intend winding it over by hand a number of times to see where the belt ends up running and I might cut a hole in the cam cover so I can see the new belt running Current:

All put back together and the engine is putting away nicely with the belt running central on the pulleys
