help wanted with headlamps

hi
is there anyone on here who lives near me in Huddersfield who has experience of splitting the headlamps to de-tango them,
I tried with one of my old halogen units and made a mees of it Censored
daren't put them in oven without knowledge of doing it correctly.

There is a good write up on doing the de-tango.
Follow the instructions and it's very easy.
Just don't turn the oven too high or go out and forget that the lights in there.

How did you make a mess of it?
A tube of black rubber adhesive helps for revealing them

I bought a heat gun for £11 to do mine. Didn't fancy the oven method. First one was a bit of a struggle but second was easier.

I use a heat gun and a laser thermometer, makes doing them simple and predictable Thumbs Up

I tried with a hair dryer,got very hot and sticky but was cooling off before it would come apart Sad

They don't get hot enough, you need 70 degree plus all around the seal , get a paint stripper hot air gun Thumbs Up
