New alternator is sub £200, it's a 30 minute job if you can get the viscous fan off and I never reset any fault codes and I put tso new alternators on mine. 2014 D4 XS

Am I correct in thinking J@mes, that a single alternator doesn't give your battery enough charge? <g> LeighW
The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Mine gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago, luckily I have mechanical breakdown with the AA, they recovered it from Liverpool to the Wirral , my Indi, supplied and fitted the new alternator, I was back on the road in 3 hours, all I had to pay of the 350 quid bill was 35 quid excess . Happy days
