Only ever had to change 1 setting on the D3, but there are now various options to edit
In Speed Control I set it to CC instead of NoCC it was set to.
Then I set Switch Type to Res1. There wasn't an original setting for that.
Being that the car came without any wheel switches, I'm guessing this should work. The D3 doesn't think so though
Just a thought. Should I have set the Switch Type to Res2. I have both CC and Radio switches fitted to the wheel?
No, I resistive ladder is all you need, speed control set to fitted
I don't think I have "filled" on the options but I'll check tomorrow.Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

Daft question, but there has to be a pedal position sensor on the clutch and the brake pedal to deactivate the cruise, I guess the brake light switch covers the needs of the brakes, but what does the clutch, and is it possible one of these is stuck in a closed circuit preventing the cruise bring set??
There are switches on clutch and brake pedals. I think the clutch has a variable resistor. The brake switch will have multiple contacts. I've not checked them yet as I've not had time.
It's on the To Do list.Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

Send us your faults list using the App, we will have a look.
Since the last IP modification, the codes got removed. I'll save some more once I've worked out how the app works.Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

Update. It works!!!!
Ok this morning I had a few minutes to look into this.
There are no codes showing except for 2 on the heater.
I tested the brake light switch proving all was well. I thought I'd try the harness in the wheel as I'd not changed that when I fitted the switches. I had a new harness that came with the CC switches but at the time decided to use the original one (bad mistake). So I popped the air bag out and swapped the original harness for the new replacement.
I then checked the IP settings, proving all was well. So I thought I'd give the CC a try. Well would you believe, the CC now works. So I can only assume that the harness in the wheel was faulty. I still don't understand how it worked the IID ? Who knows. All I'm interested in is the CC is now working.
Thanks to everyone for all the advice on this.Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

Thanks Pat. Your box of tricks is the business. Sadly it can't over come human error!
Thanks for all your help.
Edit.
There is an unexpected bonus. I had noticed that the radio volume didn't appear to work every time a button was pressed. However now I've changed the wheel harness, it works faultlessly Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

It is not unusual for the IID Tool to work when the CC does not. The CC is designed to be intolerant of even a minor degradation and will default to failed / off at the drop of a hat - there is a safety logic to this.
