judder when braking & Brake caliper bolts
I got a bit of brake judder the other day - read a few posts and thought I'd change the discs. Looking at the fronts they don't seem that worn (see photo for none technical evidence). Followed Bodsy's great guide but struggle with the caliper bolts - I'm just on axle stands on the drive and couldn't undo them.
Any tips on the caliper bolts? (apart from going to the gym)
Do the discs look like they need replacing?
Could the wobble have been caused by a hot spot (i was in stationary traffic foot on brake after belting over snake pass, so that could have caused it) I haven't had the wobble since, but I've not been at motorway speeds since.

WD40 and a longer bar to get nuts undone you need a pair of calipers to measure the discs as they do appear to have a bit of a lip at the bottom you may have just knocked the pads out of alignment with the quick driving over snake pass and now they may be back in place Discovery 3 se gone

Might have another go tomorrow with the wheel turned in so the breaker bar can clear the bodywork. Should have thought about that today DOH!2006 TDV6 HSE Wrapped Matt Black STOLEN NOT RECOVERED

I replaced the front brakes on ours with the upgraded V8 versions on Saturday afternoon and found the caliper carrier bolts were a nightmare to get undone on the drivers side. The passenger side were just past finger tight though!
Anyway, if you think getting them undone is hard, wait until you are trying to get them back on up to the right torque setting...Cheers,
Gareth

IIRC the front caliper carrier bolts should be torqued to 270Nm, they require a large breaker bar when being removed.GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

So can a worn lower swivel joint
Your disks look well worn, 27mm is the minimum LR recomended thickness for front. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Right - i'm getting on the weights (and getting a 600mm breaker from Amazon tomorrow) and going back in...
Do I really have to use new slider bolts every time or can a squidge of thread lock do the job?
(Breaker bar was a good deal - shall I tell you all about it, er, mebbe not....)2006 TDV6 HSE Wrapped Matt Black STOLEN NOT RECOVERED
