Checked the Fuel Rail Pressures, it seems to climb to 17500KPa on hard acceleration I n the faultmate, though I'm fairly sure these are out by a factor of 10, simulate readings obtained on SWMBO's D3.
Turbo actuator checked, seems to move freely when ignition turned on ie when it is exercised, and again fine when turning off. Wiggled and waggled with a piece if wire coat hanger, and half a can of WD40 dumped down there for good measure.
All wiring in the NSF wheel arch looks good, no major connectors in there on mine, so I assume that was a pre MY08 thing?
All intercooler hoses appear intact, no oil etc, and the large one is silicone anyway.
Disabled the rear diff in the CCF and no difference in the transfer box behaviour.
Checked the plugs at the transfer box motor and all seems well, removed the plug and all connections look clean and dry. Also notes that the hall A signal is reaching the MVS2 OK, so I'm thinking it's an internal transfer box issue rather than wiring?? That'll be cheap then..... not!!
When looking at the dash lights when changing range it appears to get stuck on neutral in the transfer box, also can't move the gear leaver out of neutral until another range change whilst action art is attempted.
Just need to nip out tomorrow and try and capture some live data on the msv2 while attempting a range change on the move.
All in all I'm no further forward other than ruling out what it's not, on either problem Banging Head

After a few members suggested that it's a wiring issue, I decided to check the wiring to the Rear Diff ECU, though what could be wrong with this I wondered??

What's wrong with the wiring appears to be little or nothing, but the fact that all 3 connectors have been disconnected and hanging free does probably go some way to explain why I had a problem.....

I'm assuming that the rear diff has caused somebody problems in the past and that unplugging it seemed to fix things in the main. Presumably the canbus plug hanging free is not really that good......

Just need to get a couple of hours to stick the connectors back in and see what symptoms it comes up with!!!

Any advice/ warnings gratefully received Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Connected everything back, re flashed rear diff.
Now got 'Transmission Fault - Reduced Traction' and U0122 showing on rear diff ECU.
Not had chance to drive it yet, will nip out this evening as per Geoff's advice Thumbs Up
Hopefully I won't need towing back home Rolling with laughter

Yes I would expect 2 pairs of canbus wiring to provide the complete loop via pins 2,3,5&6.

So does that mean there should be 2 pairs of High Speed Canbus wires, or a pair of high speed and a pair of medium speed? Bow down

CAN+ & CAN- IN and CAN+ & CAN- OUT. Normally one side links to the EPB and the other to the ECM.

Not sure what is going on your vehicle but my experience of rear diffs is close to zero, so perhaps it changed at some point.

Spooky has just confirmed over on the other channel that the Rear Diff ECU on MY08 is a branch off the canbus rather than inline, so it seems that the canbus hasn't been chopped and spliced previously, which is a result.
Looks like the software on the abs module might have been superseded so that's the next step. I jut wonder what caused the original fault..... Which I have today managed to resurrect?? If it due to he and module software then why did that conflict crop up? It's as if somebody has reflashing a module, cocked it up and not known what to do and ended up doing a bodge to get mobile/ get rid of errors.
I have just about got every piece of history for the vehicle, bar a 12 month period where it dropped off the radar, makes me think it must have been during that time period Shocked
