What I did on a D1 and a D2 was to connect direct to the heater fan via resistor for speed and a diode to stop any power getting back to the webasto.
Ive used mine a couple of times this year (with the bas remote) and miss the clear screen I got with the old cars.
Does anyone know if the D3 webasto has an out signal once the heater is running capable of triggering a relay?

D3 fans cannot be controlled using a simple 12V supply, relayed or not.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Martin I said relay as I was thinking of the output from the webasto is likely to not have enough grunt to drive the fans directly hence the relay.
If you have the Danhag system installed on your car you can control the fans via a IPU, this has a potentiometer that needs adjusting for the correct speed of the fans.
This allows you after a period of time to set the fans blowing in the cab after the FBH has been running for a set time.
As far as I know this is the only system that offers this.

The fans are PWM controlled, so a simple voltage injection will not work.
The Danhag IPCU emulates the PWM signals which drive the fan.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I want to install something like this in my D4. I have ParkHeat/Vent at the moment but would prefer to control with my phone and a dedicated app than another remote in case the remote range isn't close enough for me to activate when required.
Will the webasto control vent and fbh on the D4 or is my only option the additional remote and "official" LR system for this?

Short answer is yes I think you could fit the ThermoCall system instead of Telestart (factory remote)06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I seem to recall a Y-splitter coming with the kit to cater for vehicles with a remote already fitted, so it all just plugs together.

There is no 'official Land Rover' kit, as in reality it is all Webasto stuff strung together, plus a minor tweak of the configuration file on the vehicle.
Putting this stuff in a D4 is dead easy.

Dead easy for some no doubt.
I'll wait until others have done it and hopefully documented the procedure as I'll probably end up buying the only unit that's not compatible with my D4
