A Hypothetical Question
Let’s say I was pfaffing about on my car (for 2.5 hours), with say the doors open (therefore courtesy lights on) with the radio playing away merrily and quite loud (each time it switched off on timer I turned it back on).
How long could I reasonably expect my battery to last – I mean, surely this meagre loading wouldn’t flatten it would it?
Let’s suppose it did drain the battery… can I suspect my battery is not holding its charge?
And lets say I stupidly (still hypothetically) did flatten it would it need a bench charge or would I be OK with a good run?

hypothetically a good run should do it TFC will be the best person to ask.
A second battery would also be of some use in such a hypothetical situation, again ask TFC about the one he fitted in my blue D3.Focus ST500

2.5 hours seems a bit...well, short to flatten the battery... hypothetically of course.
Chris, I've put an hour's run on the battery - I'll see if it's enough D3 HSE V8...

You have to guard against chemical leaks then. Better and safer to leave the engine running

True , but can't think of anything better to do with a prius. Hmmm maybe I should start a new thread on this one... D3 HSE V8...

Sorry to hear that
On a related note (not so 'hypothetical'), my DVD player is apparently meant to switch off 15 mins after ignition off - but it doesn't. I know it pulls a bit more power than the radio, so this could cause me problems. Does anyone else's DVD player time out?Disco 5 HSE Lux

I would guess it's the amp that chews the power (I lumped it all together as the radio) - the DVD player should - and I'm engaging guess mode here - be relatively low current in comparison????? That said, if the battery goes as quick as mine seemed to, then I'd get its auto-off sorted.
I missed my car wash today D3 HSE V8...

It plays through the stereo, so the amp is still on, plus it's got the screen to power, as well as the laser to read the dvd - all power hungry Disco 5 HSE Lux
