Hi I am new to the forum and seriously considering an LR3. I have a Series 2 Discovery and dealer is willing to do trade in. I am reading here about a new my08. Appreciate any specs or pics or web links re the new model as I cannot see it discussed anywhere but on this forum, so well done to you all.
Cheers

I have to admit that from the pictures I've seen so far I actually prefer the old interior. JM, if possible can you post some pictures created without using the flash?
Cheers

slightly but don't want to do a separate post for this.
On flicking through the new D3 brochure ... apart from not seeing significant changes since my 05 spec ...
I noticed that the fuel tank capacity on the V8 is a 86.3 ltr versus the TDV6 with 82.3 ltr.
Seems very strange to have a different volume tank for just 4 extra litres? ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Its so the V8 owner is able to just about make it to the next fuel stop rather than having to walk the final 100m.
With a range of 300m its very useful to have a bigger tank.
In the US, its there to store the vat of Starbucks / Soda / Hamburgers etc... oh and a spare rolled up American flag in case their roof top mounted one falls off

Hello guys... Sorry but I shall not be able to show you other pictures before the 17/18th of June.
This is when I really get it..... Why ? Just because initially the delivery should have been around end of June.... And I have the money to pay for it presently blocked at the bank making money.... This will be released on June the 15th...
In the meantime, I shall have it registered to get its definitive plate number
My dealer is about 100 miles far from where I live.

TDV6 has two fuel pumps and other gubbins in the tank which may account for the difference, though I'm just speculating coz I haven't got the faintest what's in the V8 tank, I'll take a look on GTR if I get a mo
All a bit irrelevant really as the V8 has been dropped now anyway The End

Don't bother - Its got a rapidly depleting liquid inside called, quite quaintly, petrol

LR screwed up the '08 model spec - and charging more :-( |
|
I went and saw an '08 D3 HSE on Friday and can honestly say that I was really disappointed.
For an extra £500, over my current D3's original purchase price LR seemed to have included some trivial bling to the current D3, put in a different style of leather seat with powered lumber adjustment (wow - does anyone ever change there's?) and taken away the rear air-con.
So I my opinion this is a giant leap backwards. I for one actually use the rear air-con at least once a week, to dry my dog after he's been swimming (at a dog hydrotheraphy pool) and since he's a rather large pooch, being a Bernese Mountain Dog it can take ages (2 hours!!!) drying him at home. With the rear air-con on full pelt it only takes 30-45 mins, that's how good the car drys him.
Now I know the rear air-con isn't useful to everyone here and I'm guessing LR have acknowledged that but the bling and different seats don't really offset the loss of the rear air-con. Does anyone know whether the front air-con has been beef'd up to counteract this, or has it just been removed?
I did notice that LR include as standard that carbon offset inclusion into the list price, and this sounds like a good idea, but please LR get your act together. I was considering changing mine but will probably now wait for the '09 year, which hopefully has the rear air-con restored and perhaps a few more attributes that aren't just bling.

Well rear aircon wasn't standard on the 05MY HSEs either. The amount of people that use it is probably pretty small, and you can always add it on if you really want it in a new D3! IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!

I have an 08my its fine yes the rear air con has gone and know the front has not been beef'd up at all. I for one are glad of the extra storage room in the side ( have my reasons) I like the new leather but agree the loss of the "RAC" is not made up by adding the leather. Dontforget they added PTI with sim download as well
