I was a bit frustrated when I saw I was only getting 21.9mpg but then realised most of my journeys are less 20 miles; I live in a seriously hilly place; and I enjoy having a land rover that's capable of doing more than 25mph up our local 1:4 and has a heater that works...
I did switch off the air-con and drove like I was wearing a hat (submit to my survey - people who wear hats when they're driving, drive slowly) and managed to get 28mpg... but then realised life is far too short to worry about fuel consumption in my favourite motor... I've got a diesel Mini for when I need to impress the plastic sandal wearers... my true heart though is in a 'kin big Disco, scaring the tourists... Derbyshire born, Derbyshire bred; strong in the arm and thick in the he...oh!!
