my 06 manual showing 29 ish on the computer, but I calculated 27 after a refill. thats with a fair bit of short local trips and a run to North Wales and back (150ish miles). My old 03 plated Td5 defender 110 did 27mpg regularly and that was with a big winch on the front and a roofrack with roof tent.
Thinking about the BAS remap for the disco to see if it can be made better.... DILLIGAF

My average (true) over the last 58k is 24. Since the end of November it has used no fuel. But I am expecting a big bill which will make any fuel cost pale into insignificance.
I am expecting it to either improve or be worse when I finally get it back. Mark.

its not so much how you drive it but where you drive it.
you can drive very carefully around town and still get crap MPG , compared to doing 80mph on the mway..
its the acceleration that uses the most fuel.. Duncan

i've been getting 24mpg on my daily commute which is stop start traffic (10 miles each way).
It did drop to 22mpg during the snowy / cold period but I put that down to being stuck in traffic more.
On a m-way run at..ahem!!!... motorway speeds I get 28-30mpg
Taking the reading from the dash but having just done a rough calculation of actual its not that much different (probably 0.5 less on actual).
got to be honest I'm happy with the figures as my last car (C Class 220 CDI estate) was 29 on the commute

My last three tanks are showing 22.6, 35.9 and 27.5 (brim to brim). The first was the usual up and down the A43 with its excess of roundabouts, the last two were with a friend sharing the driving on a trip to Snowdonia last weekend. I don't know if he drives his own car (a Clio) like that, but the mpg he gets from the D4 is something else!

Does wheel size affect mpg? Mines got 22's and is only getting 18mpg but the wife does just use it for short runs and it's an auto

Wow...I'm in a identical position....it was showing 32mpg
Slipped to 29.5 when I put the Frontrunner rack on
Went down to 22.9 over the weekend ...got 2 x calipers, disks and pads fitted yesterday... the brakes were binding due to a seized caliper...
Did my usual commute to the airport.....having reset the trip its showing 23.9 Mpg.... OK it has Been cold.....how much fuel does the FBH guzzle?
Could it be an EGR issue? It does seem Very coincidental....I thought it was just me.... or are there more members of the Measly Manual Mpg club?
