It was actually the front indicator inner bulb holder I had problems, with the contacts had bent, front end of car had to be jacked up, both front wheels removed, both inner wing plastic mud protectors removed, front bumper removed (2 man job), front near side plastic wing half removed, front near side headlamp removed. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

OK, first question on here. Have used the search option and no eager and willing to get the same laughs and jokes for my question. How do you replace a side light bulb if you have factory spotlights fitted? Do I need to take them off to take out the headlight unit?

By sidelight do you mean parking light/bulb, parking bulbs are in the headlamp unit nothing to do with spot/fog lights, accessed from the rear of the unit, it may be easier to remove the unit(2 Minuit job), remove the grill, find two upside down"L" clips and lift up , pull the unit forward, split power connection and with the unit off change bulb. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

By parking light do you mean side light?
Small bulb in the headlight cluster, illuminates when lighting switch is set to first position.
Sometimes also called position(ing) light/lamp.
I'm not aware of the D3 (at least) having parking lights.
(which are side lights illuminated, either front and rear on one side selected by use of the indicator when parked,or both sides illuminated by a switch)

My question was with regards to taking out the whole unit as that requires release of the grille, but with the factory spotlights that is a bit of a challenge as they are resting on the bottom part of the grille at the back...
Sidelights in my definition are the small w5w lights in the bottom outer corner of the headlight unit.

I think: you will have to remove the spotlights, to remove the grill, to remove the headlight units, to change the sidelight bulb.

Sounds like a lot of hassle for changing a simple bulb... But guess it needs to be done.
