i know what happened now! anyway here's the excuse, i said to the lad in halfords and he came out and said look you dont have to take anything apart got his tiny hand in and took the bulb out, thought that looks easier than taking the front apart and i was then determined! tit, any way i then tried that to no avail even an aa man that was close by said they were an . anyway i then took the front off easy enough and tried to lift the clip which wouldnt budge after ten minutes of swearing and pulling i got the winder out the jack set hooked it under pulled it apart and done!! next time 3 minutes 4 at most!!

Yep, get some grease on the sliders as they are a pain otherwise!

I gave up trying to change parking bulb after 90 mins on daugters Corsa, ran out of time as both front wheels and front bumper/valance have to come off to remove lamp unit Peugeot 307 is about the same, it is one thing Land Rover have got right. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

D3 prob te easiest car i have ever owned to change bulb (they had to make something easy to do!) on my 5 series, three are easy to replace, however one is so hard even the BMW filtter had to get a mate to help!

Yep lithium grease works well for this. Don't really need the spray of course, but could be handy for other things.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

I lost a fair amount of hand skin changing a headlight bulb on my sister's shoity old Citroen C5. A complete shed of a car which she has since traded in for a Freelander.

Competition Cahllenge
This sound like a developing challenge for rallies and club meetings.
Could have a driver and passenger team event coud even make it more interesting by replacing a brake light at the same time.... always seem to go one after the other.
Don't you just love the way Halfords sell you a whole set of bulbs in a handy plastic case.......still to meet anyone who's had to use any of the little jobbies in there
Anyway no shame in admitting the job took a little longer than expected sometimes the only way to learn, main thing was the job got done....result
I use the grease that Halfrauds sell for off road bikes...sticks like poo to the proverbial blanket
works on these sliders, the front steering contact place (on D3's) & the auto gearbox linkage thing...
It just doesnt wash off or out....BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.
