Hi Colin,
Any date for the LR2 my2013 release in mind?
sorry, i seem to have overlooked your post and question until now.
To answer your question and Apache's
As we are providing functionality based diagnostics that are designed to generically cover all CAN BUS based systems on all Land Vehicles that exclusively use them on the Nanocom Evolution, there is no technical reason why we could not include all years of the Freelander 2 at initial launch.
However, until we have tested this ourselves and checked that there are no problems that may need a bit of tweaking, we prefer not to provide licencing for these models.
Sadly we will be unable to do this before the initial release date of Dec 1st, but fully expect that we can do so in the early part of 2014

after having read this full thread, viewed the youtubes and tested the website some time ago I must say I like the interface and particularly the ease of use of the site. Other than that IMHO not a spectacular difference from the IIDTool.RLD Sump Guard

Already owning a Nanocom Evo, I'd say there are at least two significant differences and improvements
over the IIDTool:
1. Not VIN locked
2. Self contained with own display and input device (touch-screen)
I got my Nanocom just after the Evolution 2 was released by BBS and have been pleased with its usability, both on the TDCi Defender and on the Disco2, Live values (instrument) view is especially useful for quick verification of sensor values. So I am looking forward to having it available to use on the D3.
Additionally I have a Faultmate MSV Nano which is also in a class of its own, although needs to be used in conjunction with a laptop

The VIN-lock for the IID Tool may be on its way out…

Full Colour TFT graphics screen.
Graphical type displays.
Touch screen input.
Small, thin and very sleek.
Robust Aluminium case.
SD/SDHC card slot that can be used for saving, flashing and data logging. Not VIN locked.
Support of ISO14229 Tested / not Tested fault codes including Custom mask.
Read / Clear of fault codes by individual ECU or all ECU's at once.
FULL all parameters CCF Editing in basic / Advanced modes.
Genesis providing CCF editing by VIN entry alone.
Provision of AS BUILT files by Genesis.
FULL all ECU flashing (granted not all at initial launch).
Genesis providing all possible Flash files by VIN entry alone.
Intelligent function based software minimising menu selections.
Additional Instrument mode function.
Coverage for all CAN BUS vehicle models (granted not all at initial launch).
Multi model capability on same unit.
Save & recall of unlimited EAS calibration value sets via SD/SDHC card
Provided by BBS, with a known history spanning years of expertize and knowledge.
Although my bias is obvious, and even I would not be so bold as to initially describe these differences as Spectacular, but given that the Nanocom Evolution is already a well known and well respected market leader for earlier models, and its new CAN BUS vehicle coverage will also provide all the usual and requisite functions such as service resetting, adaptive resetting, EPB tools, EAS tools like tight tolerance mode, key programming and we have only just started scratching the surface with adding capability and functionality to it, This is clearly already something very different.
But given these differences and that it will be available from December the first at just £279, i am quite sure others will quickly form their very own opinions
Hello Colin - sorry if these are two silly questions - Will the new box be able to analyse and manipulate the FBH and could it also be used to apply engine remaps via the Genesis pre-written files? Sorry if I have misunderstood some of what you listed above.
Cheers,
Darren

EMS remap flashing of my maps will be added once all features for daily use are added as the last item to add. flashing maps needs some other features to be present on the tool first.
Id assume re the FBH it will be simlar to the MSV2 tool where you can do fuel prime and ruin tests etc etc, but Colin will verify planned feature on this him self as im only speculating.

Many thanks for declaring your support and interest folks.
Although the Nanocom Evolution equipment might sound like something completely new to many members of this forum, who will more likely be familiar only with our highly regarded MSV-2 and FCR equipment, The Nanocom Evolution is in fact something that already has been around for some years, has quite a well respected reputation, provides the most amount of capability for it's cost, and that we produce and supply in very large numbers.
Such large numbers in fact that we have most of it assembled by automated machinary with only a few parts needing to then be added by hand, before it gets it's screen and touch panel soldered on and gets put in its extruded aluminium case and end plates fitted.
To give you all some idea, here is a picture I took earlier today of the latest batch of Nancom Evolutions being currently built and we have almost as many again, fully completed and sitting on the shelves ready to be shipped. And Yes eljot that includes Germany

Elsewhere inside BBS HQ, my tech guys continue to test and debug the CAN BUS software.

Just as it once was with the MSV-2 which started out with really only very basic capabilites, and only my promise that much more would be added in the future, with the Nanocom Evolution being a totally new system, coverage and capability will also be a little limited to start with, and may even be a little buggy, and you again have only my word and promise that bugs will be fixed and that even more capability and functionality will be added in the future.
But just as everyone has seen happen with the MSV-2, i do not make any promises i do not keep, and although the Nanocom Evolution will never provide absolutely all of the functionality and advanced features of the MSV-2, i will ensure that it will do just about anything and everything that vehicle owners would ever realistically need.
As Pete states, EMS reflashing of even standard maps does require that we first provide some additional features, but once these are added, then it is obviously a natural progression to provide the ability to reflash Petes Custom Remaps.
Re FBH:
Yes, we will be providing functions on the Nanocom Evolution that will fix FBH problems, although probably not by 1st December.
