No Power?!

Good Evening All.

I have a 2008 Discovery 3 SE. When i turn the ignition on the engine management light is on, however when started it goes off. Is this a normal light to be on when the ignition is on and vehicle not started? im just sure on my my old 2005 Disco 3 it when off in the checks!

Also this may be common on the newer models but when you start it up and select "D" it doesnt matter how far you press the accelerator the vehicle does not move fast in any way, it will just drive but at like 5mph on tick over, then maybe 5/10 seconds later it will slowly start to build up speed.

Once the vehicle has warmed up the problem goes!!!

Whats the cause or is this normal on the newer Discovery 3 Models?

Any help would be appriciated.

Regards

Mark

EDITED as I did not read the thread correctly Embarassed

The EML stays on with the ignition, and goes off when started for every model year.

The poor throttle response may be an EGR valve starting to play up

The slow speed build up sounds like EGR valve problem.
