DSC fault ....... or not??

I'm not sure if I've got a problem or not so i'm posting to see if anyone has experienced similar.

I've owned a Disco 3 for about 5 months now and on a small number of occasions i've had the DSC kick in while going round corners.

At the time i was just coasting and neither braking or accelerating. It seemed to me that my speed was perfectly acceptable for the corner and the roads were dry. Instantly I though i'd ran over something and was dragging it along the road as the car was juddering, but then i noticed the DSC warning light flashing.

Does anyone know of faults with the DSC on 07 models that have been reported or is it nothing to worry about.
As I said, every time it happesns I dont feel like i'm puxhing the car and wouldnt really expect the DSC to kick in.

Many thanks guys.

The DSC system is connected with the abs system amongs other things.. it might be a issue with one of the abs sensors, it might be an issue with the abs sensor not picking up the "dotts" on the wheel..
to my understanding of the abs sensor sysem its like a laser that you will find by doors @ supermakets.. the laser sends a laser beam to a reflector that reflects the beam back.. but when something prevents the beam to return somehting happens. a counter ticks one over or a bell ringing.. the same goes for the abs sensor.

so if a signal is not detected the Dsc will kick in cause it thinks you are trying to do a Donut.. lol

HAve a read here for more info about Abs

And here about the stability Control DSC/ESC

Strangely my DSC stopped kicking in after I changed the front Flexible hoses on my car.

I'm sure it was refreshing the brake fluid that did it, but can't be sure.

It sounds like it may be an issue then.
Last question,, if it is a faulty sensor or similar, is it likely that a faultmate plugged in would identify the fault.. or is that wish full thinking.
Ta..

I presume you have checked tyre pressures and found them spot-on?

If tyre presures are even slightly out or uneven wear is evident on any of the tyres, then this is a classic symptom. If the traking is out it will do as you have discribed. Four wheel alignment will be the cure if its out. This exact thing happened to me early this year,
New tyres and four wheel alignment, now jobs a goodn.

P.s. dont go to your local tyre/exhaust centre and expect them to be able to do the alignment unless they really know what thier doing. Alot of them dont! The disco3 needs very carefully setting up and the people doing it should have all the relevent data to do it correctly. Ask them first.
You could ask your nearest LR dealer who they use and go to them. Good luck.

mine was doing the exact same, particularly in right handers, the rear tyres were low on tread pressures seemed ok. New tyres on and the problem vanished.

thanks guys,
sounds like good advise. All 4 tyres are pretty new but the front 2 are different brand to the rear 2...! Something I hate with my cars and would never do myself but with this car I bought it like that.
(Toyo Proxes on Front and Pirelli Scorpion on rear).
I will check my pressure though and since I've no idea when the alignment was last checked i'll get that done as well.
p.s. I had a Mitsubishi Shogun warrior before the land rover and the alignment was always going out. I had to get that done every 3 months or so. Was a nightmare for it.
