I dont know, when i were a nipper i'd be in my gran folks back garden helping them with their logging
I remember going off with my brother and dad in a VW Polo Coupe in the late 80's and the boot of the car would be filled up from the local wood with as much as the suspension could handle and then the passenger footwell before the chainsaw was strapped into the passenger seat and then back off home
Ahh the old days of a back burning providing the heat for all the radiators in the house and the hot water tank FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner

Ah, seen them on offer before but wasn't sure if they were worth the money. Perhaps I'll invest in 1 now. HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

Not sure where your nearest dealer would be but this seems to handle big bits of wood and is fairly fast

Back to your original thread then.....
I will ask my son, he works with a guy in our village who has been providing loads of us with logs for many years. I know he is about to retire so will see what he uses and he may well be up for selling it. D4 HSE - Aintree Green

Just got a reply back from the boy
The one Francis Drake (yep that the name of our local wood man) processes about 200 tons a year.
You load 8ft lengths on to it, it saws and splits the logs and runs off the PTO on a John Deer.
He reconds it costs about £15-20K
He is not sure if its up for sale but will ask if he see him out.
I am guessing this maybe a little big even if available
My £14 log grenade sounds a bargain D4 HSE - Aintree Green

Cheers pal that sounds like the sort of thing I'm after If you get a minute can you find out the make and model please?
KP and Mark
Cheers for your suggestions but there is a big difference between splitters and processors. I have a unit at the moment that sits at the back of my tractor that has a circular saw and a cone screw type splitter but it is very labour intensive and pretty slow. If you Youtube Haaki Pilke 42 thats the sort of thing I'm looking for, second hand of course Club Exped trailer

I have texted the "boy" and he will see if he can get info to me. Will ping you if and when he gets back to me.
Failing that I'll get SWMBO to call him as she is always getting him to do work in our garden
