Wiper Removal
Going to be attempting the front scuttle panel replacement this weekend, weather permitting.
Obviously the wipers have to come off and I'm sure I read somewhere this can be a problem.
Has anybody attempted to remove their wipers and found them seized on or am I worrying unnecessarily?Mods:

I tried to get one of mine off but failed, despite making up a puller. If you are going to attempt it get yourself a proper puller before you even go near them (cue the next 50 people saying theirs virtually fell off)

Don't - whatever you do - try applying any twisting force to remove them. They are splined on with the female being aluminium (or soft alloy) and the male being steel. Any twist will probably destroy the spline affect on the blade arm. (they'll go all floppy when you switch them on )

You'll need a puller - they come off easy enough then.
The panel is very easy to replace and really makes a cosmetic difference.2013 Evoque

there is avery small drain hole in that panel just below one of the spindles. this block up really easlily and if the car isnt used every day, the spindle can sit in water and general crud.
its worth just pocking a bit of wire down the hole now and again to keep it clearDuncan

I'd try gentle pulling without buying a terminal puller first. You may not need it so could save a few pennies.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

You must be a mind reader Robbie, that's exactly what I will do.
I hate buying odd tools that require 2 minutes of use and then a lifetime at the bottom of your tool box.
I might even make a puller, I'll think of something. Mods:

I have loads of tools but the virtual list of stuff that I have gotten away with not buying is also a badge of honour. An email around work to borrow stuff is always worth a go and the forum membership is also a good place to borrow from.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Narpy, Hi,
I would try Hot water to expand the alloy as it should expand quicker than the steel male underneath, Needless to say!! you must protect your screen from Scalding water applied with maybe a watering can or kettle, did this trick on my sons bicycle seat tube, which was reluctant to release from the alloy frame, it worked for that! so you may be lucky.
