Engine oil

Hi friends

I have just had my first servicing since I bought my Discovery 4 in late August, it's a 2012 HSE fully loaded.i have done 6000 Kms since then and have realized that the oil level has reduced from time to time, I did ask my dealer and he told me that it is synthetic oil and it does reduce a bit.It had reached above two lines from the OK level when I took it to the dealer to change the oil.

Now that the oil has been changed yesterday, I checked it today morning and the oil level is in the same place where I had seen yesterday, I did call the dealer to reconfirm if it had been changed and did confirm it and I told him that the engine oil still seems to be just above he OK level, to my utmost knowledge when in any vehicle the engine oil is changed it should show till the top level or the MAX level but here it is just above the OK level, so I was just wondering how on earth the dealer is saying it to be correct.

Maybe iam wrong but to be honest I want the dealer to be wrong here, just above two lines from the OK level and the dealer says its fine don't make any sense to me. Iam confused and don't have any clues please do send me your feed back.

Cheers.

you need to allow the vehicle to rest for 10 minutes on level ground before checking the oil level, are you doing that ?

Mine shows as the second picture where it says OK but I thought it should be on the top somewhere near MAX after changing the engine oil? Is it ok for a new engine ol to be there? Will also post a picture soon.
