Front/Rear Heated Windscreen: Auto Swtich On Deactivation?

Any idea if it's possible to switch off the automatic activation of the front/rear heated windscreens? This is fine once you enter the car and it's around freezing, but every time thereafter, that you reenter the car and start it up, the damn things come on.

Any ideas?

Sounds as if ou do a lot of stop-start actually involving switching off the engine!! - that may explain your battery issue somewhat. I can't find a means of turning off the auto screens, it's a useful feature but also irritating!, and I just manually turn them off if not needed. Otherwise I've so far found no issue with remote heating other than one occasion when I'd been moving a trailer with the D4 in they yard & hadn't given the car a proper run, so then the next morning it closed off the remote heating, but a day's normal use & it was fine again the next day!

I think they come on automatically when the temperature is below 5°C I just turn them off as i get into the car as I usually use my remote heater to defrost the car Thumbs Up

Eccose, it's not like I stop the engine every 5 mins... but if you're out and about in town, it comes on regardless, even when the car is roasty toasty inside. I find it tends to grime the screen up on the outside when it gets too hot and there's minimal water hitting it, but you still have to use the wipers.

Obviously not the biggest headache in the world, and I would rather have to turn them off manually then not have them at all, but I was sure some of you boffins would have sussed out a technique by now Thumbs Up
