When driving a 2006 S I had no problems at all, but my 2007 HSE just apologised all the time.
I decided to have a play around, and eventually discovered that it's 'cos my voice is too deep pitched.
Try giving it commands whilst imagining your nadgers are in a clamp. It's sad, and not suitable for when you have passengers but the raise in pitch works. No really!
I'll be glad when there's a less embarassing fix
Thanks for this, in a way, I am glad it isn't just me 'cos I thought perhaps I was speaking hebrew and didn't know it (no offence anyone please!).
Perhaps I'll try checking the languiage setup as Bodsy mentioned it......
I'll let you know!

After reading this thread yesterday I decided to have a little chat with my D3 on the way home last night.
I had learned some of the commands that I wanted to use to change CD/radio station etc. but all my D3 wanted to talk to me about was the bloody phone!
I have looked at some old threads concerning this but didn't find the exact answer so...
My car has PTI, the Hi-line audio system (not premium) and no sat-nav. Therefore is my voice recognition system only set up for the phone or should I be able to use it for the audio as well? Back in the game!

I think it's only with premium nav. Our second D3 gained VR although the first had premium audio but standard nav.

I am confused, I have a SE 2006, its a whatever radio comes in that spec and has ordinary sat nav. Does this mean that I should be able to "command" the audio to change station etc, or voice "command" the sat nav?
(I do have two little levers on the right hand side of the steering wheel and whenever I have had a play it says it's listening... if only the bl**dy dogs would that would be a big help)

Those two little levers on the right are for the phone, the one on the left is for the voice control which is a bit limited on the SE AFAIR The End

Well, i've not had much luck in getting the voice activation to work....only very occasionally. What i do not like is when after three times attempting to instruct it to find a destination the male voice says in the most smug voice possible : "COMMAND NOT recognised!" The manner in which it is said is to cause maximum embarassment to the driver, when all around the passengers are sniggering away and thinking words like flash git, moron etc.
Perhaps I can change this to another language, perhaps say Italian which usually results in another five sentences over and above the English version and can still sound impressive even under failure. German is definitely out as they simply reduce a sentence to a single word...like "Verboten! or Achtung!"

Well theres ya problem PB, you have got it set to Male. That bloke is a right awkward git, and you would get on much better with the English Female voice setting.
She will obey your every command
