I think a product improvement for the IID tool would be to add turn indicators (or something else that I have yet to think of) as a secondary method of moving up and down through the menus. This would provide a capability for those without CC buttons fitted and provide a fault finding mode for those with known CC issues.
I'm sure Steve could add such a feature to the next update!
In fact where is the bespoke thread for IID Tool suggestions as these tools will only develop fully with the help of the users?

I really don't think that this town is not big enough for the both of us. And a little competition will benefit all in the long run.
Indeed, i certainly have very good reason to thank you for adding a new and competitive element to the market.
Not only does it motivate my tech guys, but it also provides me with a reason and excuse to implement tons of much more advanced stuff we have actually been working on for years, but previously had no good cause or reason to release.
I see you have some issues being raised again with input control on the IID.
Set me wondering
What is the situation with those that have Low Line instrument packs that have no LCD display ?

I think you can refer to them as prospective customers!
Lots of room in this pond.

I too have bought the IID tool - the price and features!
I ordered to LRDirect following a link in one of the post at the forum.
Place the order on last Friday and got it delivered to Sydney Australia on Monday afternoon! It was a superfast service.
But there was a problem when I opened the package. As I just followed the link in the forum assuming the part number in the link is for Disco3, I didn't know the part number is Range Rover 2002-2005 until I open the box.
When I found this, sent an email to support@gap-diagnostics.com asking help and the helping hand came promptly even there were big time differences between Australia(daytime) and Gap Diagnostic.(late at night). The support from Gap Diagnostic was exceptional!
Christian sent me a step by step instruction changing the firmware from Range Rover to Disco 3 and within 10 minutes, I could manage to connect to my Disco and start using it.
Through this, I was very impressed with GAP-Diagnostics
1. The IIDTool itself - functionality, easy of usage, flexibility and the price
2. The support - almost 20 hours/day 350 days/year prompt/helpful personal support
and became one of the happy user.
I am waiting to see the ECU flashing capability to be released from GAP-Diagnostic.

That was me that posted the link and sorry I got the wrong one!
I have just emailed GAP Diagnostics and got a very quick reply. They prefer not change the firmware as it requires a manual intervention by them and can be problematic over the various timezones.
However, Patrick very kindly sent me a link to the correct tool for the Discovery 3 on the LRDirect site and the price is the same. The Britpart part No is DA6405 not DA6400 that I had posted earlier.
Hope that helps and sorry for the confusion. Just got paid so off to order mine now

Hi
A couple of months have passed on this topic without comment. As a new d3 owner, I have quickly came round to the idea of investing in some faultfinding equipment.
I have been mainly considering and reading up on iid (seems to be the most rapidly developing) and bearmach hawkeye (really like the model type licence rather than VIN), but also the FCR Faultmate. In this thread, both BBS-Spy and Steve alluded to upcoming developments, which gave me pause for thought. Any news on imminent releases of improved functionality or displays?
I also see a new offering from lynx diagnostics being sold through Britpart I think. getting to be a busy market which has to be good for us consumers

I bought the device IIDTool. I did not have switches built into the CC. The Gap diagnostic solved for me to be able to use. Every function works perfectly! And cheaper than the competitors. The diagnostic gap in people's support helped me perfectly. I recommend! The purchase has been a lot of updates is easy to operate, and the price compared to totally OK. I turned this unit Cruise Controll
