Is the ATR a much more agressive thread pattern....
Just swapped out Vredesteins to ATR's. Maybe its my imagination but where as you wouldn't notice the Vred's I get the feeling on main roads that I can definitely feel the ATR's. They are not noisy I can just feel them under foot?

On the road I'd struggle to tell the difference between Pirelli Zero's and ATR's and I've done many thousands of miles on both.
I think it might be because you had the Vred's at a much higher pressure, which is why you're "noticing" the ATR's. At such high pressure, you'd be tip toeing about rather.
Aha, yes thanks., Vreds run at 39 front/46 back so you are bouncing around. I am running the ATRs at 33 front/36 back, they look flat compared to the Vreds . That sounds very credible thanks.

Would be nice to hear MPG feedback if you have checked B4 and after.
We have just done it the otherway round and the customer says he likes the steering better with Vredestein than the ATR especially in the wet.

Just about to do 2000 miles through France which last year I got 27.5mpg on the Vreds so will check and update when we get back.

Higher tyre pressures result in higher mpg, so I'd anticipate a slight drop off in your mpg.
The Vred's are a cold weather road tyre and as such have a road biased tread pattern. The ATR is an All-Terrain tyre. However, I noticed no difference in mpg or road noise between the ATR and the Pirelli Zero's and Goodyear Wrangler HP's that I've also run on my D3. But that's just one of the reasons the ATR is the winner of so many All-Terrain tyre tests across the world

Equally no increase in road noise or feel with ATRs over 17" Contis or 18" Scorps, also no increase in fuel use.

My MPG has dropped from 30 to 27 since fitting the GG ATRs. Seems steep.

What tyres did you run before?
The more aggressive block pattern of the GG AT's would account for the drop in mpg when compared to a less aggressive tread pattern.
Did 350 miles today in my new ATRs and compared to the Vred's they are incredibly noisy. Have adjusted the front to 38 from 33 which has made it a bit better but jez they are noisy. Sorry have i mentioned they are noisy
Are they directional, have they been fitted wrong? Beginning to hate them. Not looking forward to 550 miles tomorrow. Not looking forward to 550 miles in my Disco in France. Words I have never used before.

Me no understand, I dont notice any difference. SWMBO thinks they are a little noises at first but nothing too bad.
