Help can't get in!

Battery dead and doors won't unlock for me to change it.
I've popped the manual lock on the passenger door but it won't turn to unlock.
Am I missing something?

I'm sure there's an easy way in and someone will be along soon, but...

do you have towing electrics? If so you can connect up a 12v source via those, just to open the door.

Bit of WD or spray grease in the manual lock?

Locks can be hard to turn. What about the other side?

There is a method of getting power to the car via the towing electrics ISTR but don't know the details. And you'd need them fitted.

I can only see a manual lock on the passenger side, and despite graphiting it it just won't turn.
FS I thought cars unlocked when the battery runs down!
I do have towing electrics.

Yes, if you simply connect up wires from a 12v source onto the correct pins you should be OK to at least open the doors Smile

(That is, pins 4 and 7 on the left side).

Good luck!

When a friend had this issue it turned out that he was almost the only house on the planet that didn't have a source of 12v available. Scratching our collective heads whilst texting each the only suggestion I could come up with was the 12v battery in his house alarm. With a turn of a few screws the alarm standby battery was out and a length of wire was scavenged from a spare light pendant and the job was solved.

He now owns a Ctek with a suitable plug for the tow electrics.

Take that you barsteward!

Now, any tips on changing the battery, I am thinking of buying a battery radio code saver.

Congratulations!

Not sure what a battery radio code saver is, but I strongly recommend a proper charger/conditioner - Optimate, CTEK or the like. If pushed a cheap Lidl one will do. Use that to condition the battery, it's very possible it doesn't need changing at all...
