I had a similar problem to this and it turned out to be a puncture with a 1/2 inch shanked bolt about 3" long with a 19mm head had gone in to the tyre in between the tread and was flush with the top of the tread, it caused a right noise at 50 to 60 mph..

As above, check wheel nuts. I've experienced this.....

Agree with NJSS - could have thrown balance weight or had plenty mud stuck on a wheel as "muddy" guys suggest. Also had the loose wheel nut syndrome but this was in Disco 1 not D3. Beware of overtightening even if it is a loose nut at present though.

Had a similar problem, thought it was the diff, just a wheel bearing in the end!

This happened to me a few months ago. Quickly diagnosed as a sticking brake calliper. Easily fixed for about £150 by my local indy.
