how do these scrotes get into the house ??

we have the house alarmed at night and any access through doors or windows makes enough noise to wake the dead....

not got round to fitting CCTV yet - thats next on the list.

glad you are ok though and gave him a good kicking Thumbs Up

Hi.
They can get into most houses in about 5 seconds.
Just search for "Lock Snapping. How To Open a uPVC Door" on a popular video website. You wont beleive how quick and easy it is.
They did my door, got the keys and bag then into the car in less than 30 seconds. The burgalar alarm was triggered but that doesn,t bother them. The theiving Censored .
I have now fitted anti bump and snap locks, reinforced handles and cctv.

thing is even with driveway alarm sensors, multipoint locking uPVC doors and snap locks the dimwits will still try to break in, fortunately they were disturbed (we think) and didn't get in

every piece of uPVC was taken away by them too so forensics could not link their mole grips to other jobs, so not that daft in the scheme of this i suppose

Only thing I can think of is that I didnt lock the door properly Embarassed Or the bolts didnt quite catch. Its a bit of a kick in the teeth really because every burglary I attend the last thing I say to the victim is "make sure you lock your door".

Practice what you preach Embarassed

I keep the D4 keys upstairs with me and an old D3 key in the hall table drawer.
Oh, and a cricket bat in my bedroom 'sports' cupboard.

Stinking scumbags!! One saving grace is that they didnt actually get in. Thumbs Up

Theses doors arent as secure as we think. An episode of a well known Police programme proves this Rolling Eyes

I am not that afraid they steel my disco when I am at home as most off the time my 1984 90 is parked behind the disco. So they have to drive the 90 off the driveway and then can drive a way with the disco.

I am more afraid they steel it when I am working in different countries east off germany. But for that I have a tracker and insurance.

4-6 weeks, really?
Just long enough to get fit and pick up some new skills at our expense. Unless we're going to start using some real deterrents it just feels like a waste of money.

I just wanted to comment that I find this thread very interesting. Criminals seem to have no fear in committing crimes in the U.K. I assume it is less common to have a vehicle in a garage while at home.

Could a small bolt down safe be used to store valuables at night so that they can't be easily taken?

The situation would be very different here in the states as you can imagine. I do keep a flashlight next to my bed as someone mentioned, but it is attached to my Glock. I can't imagine depending on police that are 5+ minutes away to protect my family. A lot can happen in 5 minutes.

Ah, a Glock man. I'm a Browning 9mm man myself. Unfortunately, over here, owning one and keeping it by the bed is frowned on. Pity really, I used to be a marksman. Now however, well, skill fade y'know. Still, if the law was to change I'm pretty certain there would be a Group Buy on this site Whistle
