CRD = Common Rail Diesel
DPF - I believe no UK D3 will have one, fitted to D4's as an option on earlier versions, maybe std now
All UK D3's have CATs
Unless I'm totally wrong - if the exhaust going into the CAT is cleaner because of 2T - surely thats a benefit?

I think the point is that if you have covered many thousands of miles without using any additive of this nature then lots of "crud" could be displaced and foul the CAT?
I am moving towards thinking that I will follow this route; I'm at present using Redex at every second or third tankful, and percive a benefit from this.
I wonder what benefit, if any, there would be by switching to Jaso compliant mineral or part-synthetic 2sO?

If you have a read through the freel2 topic, there are a few points saying you are wasting your money on the other additives, interesting thought!Joined the BMWX5 45e group

The cheapest JASO FB rated 2sO I found on amazon was £5/L, for the same price you can Buy Castol FC rated from Asda, so thats what i am using but I think you are OK with FB, it's mentioned earlier what the difference in Jaso ratings are.A few mods... and keeping it all running...Faultmate MSV2

Mines 09. And I have a lump at the front , and 2 lumps in the middle, so jc for me.
Castrol Actevo is currently £5.92 per litre in Tesco & a whopping £8.79 in Halfords.
Where I shopped they are within 100 yards of each other - crazy Halfords pricing.

OK, I'm going to give this a go.
So it'll be Jaso FC for my 2011 SDV6, yes?
But what is best mix, I don't want to work in 'ratios', I prefer 'ml to full tank'.
I've seen on this thread anything from 200ml up to 600ml per tank.
So what's best?
Also, should I use more for the first few tanks, then reduce after a few fill ups?

Hi ronp
I would start with 500ml per tank. If you want to you can reduce to 400ml from tank 3 onwards.EX AFRICA SEMPER ALIQUID NOVI
