Nick, Ian
If my local dealer is offering to change the timing belts x 3 for 399 incl but they don't mention any tensioners would this still be a deal and do you think the guy at the dealer has this right as I found it very strange that thee would not be included.
Cheers KEV

The tensioners on the belts come n the belt kits
The idler rollers listed above 1311306 are additional to the belt job as guys like t replace them as yo are therein the area and cost is low

Thanks Nick,
So the offer at the dealer is still good and should include the tensioners, all i need to do is think whether its worth replacing idlers whilst the belts are off? i take it theres just the 3 you mentioned above at approx £16.50 each? obviously the dealer will probably want to charge some book time to do? Sad

Only 2 needed I must have clicked wrong button, changed now Thumbs Up
Dealer should not really charge for changing as everything all off and right in front of, just 2 bolts

Biggy 105k (7 year service)

Hi Nick

My 2005 (D3) is fast approaching its 150k or seven year service (likely to hit 105k by early June - dont drive a great deal) and will have its 7th birthday around the same time...

Can you advise on what exactly needs to be changed and what the dealers do in the 7 year (105k) service. How much should I be expecting to lavish on it?

Many Thanks

Ash

I have aquired a d3 which has inly got 19k on the clock

been stood in a police compound.

It is a 55 plate

would you recommend doing the belts ~?

what about the tensioners -they wont have done much work - but as you said about - whilst here and in bits ?

Nick. Could you please check on the idler 1311306 for me please as my dealer has quoted me double for that part only? Perhaps some confusion over x2 ???
Edit: fat fingers on iPhone.
