Hi I've just dropped on a dis3 07plate from a Motorhog auction I gave £7350 for it after their costs it's in very good condition inside out . It's a v6 2.7 diesel or 3lt with 60000 miles. When are the belts due for these. I also have to caution lights (amber) one is for braking and the other air suspension which does not activate with its switch. Any advice on the new family toy guys.. Much appreciated.
Is it possible to fit the satnav from another dis3 without main dealer, Ive always done my car mods in the past but nothing to this size lol

Just did all the belts, rollers, water pump, oil pump etc All parts got in from the UK as Australia prices are a compleate rip off. Ordered parts and they landed at my office within six days.
Now need the seven years or 160K's to let the skin grow back on my hands.

Good morning- part time observer, first time poster here. An excellent resource for D3 owners. I was wondering how to contact Nick aka TLO to get parts for my D3- timing belts etc and front hubs. Also trying to get my 3 posts up so Ic an OM him!!!

Thanks DN, I will give him a call today. Have been getting bits from Britcar and Island4x4 in the past who have been ok- just a little slow getting them out sometimes. I will give Dave a try. The Yeovil name has come up before on an Australian forum as well so heres hoping.

Mine was on 210k miles last week when I did the belts, only to find it was still running the original oil pump.
Make sure your oil pump is the modified version.

I have recently purchased a 2005 2.7 HSE. Its got 160k on the clock
It didnt have the service book with it, but came with loads of invoices for work and you can tell from having a good look around, that its had a few jobs done on it and generally well looked after.
I wanted to know whether there is any way of telling if the timing/cambelts have ever been changed ?
If not, then I'll get it priced up for parts and labour and sort in the near future.
Its the last mechanical job that needs sorting and probably the biggest for me.

You need to get eyes on it mate, no other way of telling.
Removing the cam belt cover is the only way.....not a difficult job . Do it yourself, you’re potentially sitting on a ticking time bomb.

Agreed, only give aways will be whats printed on the Timing belt, if they used a non OEM one and you can only see this when its stripped - if you get it that far you might as well swap the belt over. Also it will need the HPFP belt done as well - sometimes these were swapped under a fuel pump recall - LR might be able to tell you if this was done but it would still have been around 2008 if it was so will be long overdue again... Must stop buying shiny toys....

Assume the HPFP is the Fuel Pump belt ? Would this form part of the cambelt/timing kit or would need to purchase separately ? Apologies, just wanting to make sure I order all the bits needed and it gets done at the same time.

Yes its a belt and a tensioner - fiddle to fit as you need double jointed arms to do from round the back, lots of post on here about it, however be aware some people say not to replace, as all you risk is fuel starvation when it snaps, this can be fairly disastrous though as there are also lots of counter arguments that the belt can cause a lot of damage if they go and can take some expensive items, plus sods law would be that the belt goes when you need it most or are overtaking something 
I was lucky with my first D3 as it had a fuel pump recall and the belt was swapped when it was done courtesy of LandRover hence my comment. My second D3 has had both sets of belts and tensioners done in the middle of winter in my Driveway, and as a matter of caution Its had another Fuel pump belt done when I needed to change the cam covers after an EGR issue. Must stop buying shiny toys....

If you are able to travel to get it done, Old Forge Garage near Lincoln are good and have a loan car if you had it in for a bit of work, not sure about their procedures for Lockdown though Must stop buying shiny toys....
