I used to use these some years back before changing to straps.
There is nothing wrong with the nylon ropes. A couple of points worth noting with these ropes....
1. Keep them out of the sun when not in use as with many other man made fibres they are affect by U.V light.
2. When thay have become dirty don't be tempted to jet wash or use a high pressure hose.
This can drive grit in to the core of the rope which then grinds away at the fibres.
The first thing you will see of the damage done is that one ends spearates from the other, normally at an inopertune moment.
When you wash them, leave them in water butt or similar to soak and then just shake or rub the dirt off.
You could tray a cool wash in the washing machine but marital harmony may be compromised.
