I have changed the sign up at the top so you can place your names into whichever rope length you want. If you want both then leave your names where they are Wink I have opted for 5m and 9m, however if you are not happy with these lengths then pm me your specific requirements.

Was going to get one, but it looks like everyone I'll be offroading with will have one..... Whistle Wink

Oh, go on then, I'll have one. As Gareth said, the Mantec plate is a bit restictive for shackles.

Both for me please. I've already got an 8M strop and shackles, but as mentioned the Mantec plate is a bit restrictive although they do still fit.

Can anyone tell me,if the hook was attached to the rear towing atttachment, would it foul or damage plastic LR towing electrics sockets either side of it,when in use? Thanks anyone,in anticipation. Wink

Can someone post a pic or link so I can get an idea of what the hook looks like? Embarassed

Is it a bare hook? does it have a "safety" gate on it?

Cheers

if you need to wrap the rope around a protected tree to self recover.

This has me intrigued...... Embarassed

I have always managed to get myself out of sticky situations - primarily by never entering blindly into one. Razz

How does one 'self recover'??? The only method I know is a few hours kip and a pint of black coffee Wink

you tie the rope to the top of the tree then saw it down, the resulting forces will fling your car into the distance cartoon stylee.

or the tree wil crush you, either way spectators will be amused. Laughing

Yes the rope will attach to the recovery point at the rear of the car, we have suffered no damage.

This is a great trick if you find yourself in a wood with deep tracks and lets say there is a turn you want to take but you cant get out of the track you are in.

Drive 2-3m past the turn you want to take. Attach the rope to the front of the car, then attach the other end of the rope to something that 1) wont move 2) is located say 2-3m to the side of the place you want to get out of and in the direction you want to go. Then drive backwards and, as the rope pulls tight the front of the car will swing out of the ruts. Now do the same with the rear of the car and hey presto you are out of the ruts. What happens next is entirely up to you and the circumstances you are in.
