My CCP quote was through the CSMA website who offer a discount, may suit someone on here, that is why I have mentioned it, but costs £15yr to join the CSMA and get a quote, so maybe ask a CSMA member to get a quote for you first
In fairness you do get the recovery thrown in as well which covers Europe and not limited to 30 days abroad at a time like some recovery companies

First adverse WD report so far DG, thanks for he post. I will ring LR in the morning to see where they pitch. A grand is a bit over budget unless a monthly option is available. I would assume that the level of cover should be beyond reproach though if its main dealer backed ....................................................................................................
If my wife ever sells my stuff for what she thinks I paid for them, you lot are gonna get some bargains!

The main difference with the LR policy though Peter is that you don't actually have to deal with the warranty company at all ....the dealer does all the negotiating and admin ..you just drop the motor off and pick it up after ...and in my case LRA will still come out, arrange recovery and give me a replacement FFRR or D4 ...and if you have an excellent relationship with your dealer then they will make sure that nothing stands in the way to jeopardise that 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I just had my 3rd service and hav a great relationship with my dealer as I always get a Freelander
The Wear & tear IS THE ISSUE, you don't have it with that and have paid more, it's a risk I wouldn't take
Anyway, re recovery, I think I should note that Warranty Direct give you £250 towards it plus car rental money and hotels, but if you are broken down in the peeing rain with the kids it's nice to just ring one number, what do you think of this http://disco3.co.uk/forum/post876953.html#876953

As said I have heard very good things about them ...my initial experience though was fraught and I got cold feet very quickly. They even argued that I would have to pay a % penalty to cancel before the warranty became active ....I had to read out their own refund policy to them over the phone 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

All WD do not cover really is consumables like brake pads, fluids e.t.c. BUT if they are required for a repair they pay.
As for ICE, I had that included in my policy so all radio stuff is covered, something for others to negotiate.
As for LR, the list for wear and tear would be too long to post, so I will leave it for others to imagine, I am sure there are numerous posts on things that have worn out on here that LR policy would not cover

Fingers crossed I will never need to test it out, off to sleep now because I can knowing I have WD cover, I guess you will be awake for a lot longer then with LR cover, you forgot to put that on your benefits list

I'm currently researching extended warranty. My car has done 83k miles, and WD are also quoting me £866 main dealer cover.
I have not yet approached LR, but I suspect the mileage my car has done may mean they won't offer top level cover?
I don't want LRA because I have got full RAC membership inc recovery for the 4 other cars, and the whole family in any vehicle.

There was a comment on here earlier in the thread that the forum member didn't go for dealer rates because you have to get it serviced with the dealer.
I queried this on the phone and stated that I was fairly sure block exemption meant that was illegal and they could not require it - the response - you're right, we just ask that you can service it with the dealer we don't tell you to service it with the dealer.
So, shall be servicing with an indy but able to repair with dealer if we choose

As said by many on here , time will tell, the cover I chose is in theory a lower premium, it does not cover wear and tear, but on a low mileage 3yr old car I wouldn't expect any wear and tear. If I get a year out of it and no claim , I am up on the deal, I paid for dealer rates and included the ice.
I like to hope that new lesser known players tend to offer better deals and service.
Money no object I may well have gone the Lr route but circa 1k a year is just too much to swallow. So for. £650 for a theoreticle lifetime warranty it's got to be worth a punt.

I think you need to research them a bit more on here first if you think only one has had bad experiences with them!
From my personal, expensive experience, if it doesn't include wear and tear don't part with your cash, especially at the age yours is!
