Just filled mine up yesterday after picking it up from the Dealers with the range showing 0. Had to drive a further 5 miles to the 1st garage where it took 86.96 litres.

Filled up today with 82 litres. I had low fuel warning only 60km prior refuelling and I was driving only some 80km/h. I'm pretty confident that I wasn't on last drop. Makes me think that LR is being cautios of printed tank capasity figures Confused

Normally head for a garage as soon as the light comes on. Typically it tells me I have about 50 miles range, but I find that with the V8, a quick dab here or there with the accelerator and this can drop almost instantly to single figures before climbing again.

I always ask myself "do I feel lucky?" and a little voice says.... no. Usual fill-up is around 75- 78 litres for a range of 200 - 450 mile range (yes, it varies that much dependent on type of journey and driving).

Dont like the idea of taking any risk of running out. I am a scaredy cat Wink

So just to confirm my own self doubt.. I looked it up in my Owners Handbook (Part No LRL 10 02 53 502) page 331 the capacity is listed as 86 ltr or 19 gallons.

Elsewhere in the manual it says that if you run out, you may need to put in a minimum of 4ltrs to start the car, therefore presumably 86 - 4 = the 82ltr useable capacity stated.

Re Fill up

I usually fill up from the Station pump however it takes pity on me by only letting me have 70 litres Laughing It then trips off as the limit is set as this for Ambulances.
I actually ran out of fuel one day Thud however but i managed to coast through two busy roundabouts over a 1/4 of a mile and roll onto a Shell forecourt it was so funny Laughing .I had envisgaed going for a walk with a fuel can Laughing

After 6 mths and 11500 miles on clock the best fuel consumption for me is on a long motorway run with a steady right foot

Normal day to day i just tend to put in 30-40 litres at a time when i fill due to time it takes to completly fill to full.
Using around £350-400 fuel a month Big Cry
