Reading the brochure until it fell apart and driving past the garage to look at the demo in the window when it's closed. Yes, I'm a saddo and not suggesting you are but reading these posts reminds me of those old days.
When it's pick-up day. I hated it when the dealer insisted you sign reams of paperwork while you stare out of the big glass window at the car and then wanting to punch him while he then insisted on laboriously taking you through every blinking control and feature before he let you drive off!
Then, that high you get when you head off nervously down the road smelling that untainted aroma of NEW CAR. Love it.
Brilliant!

Presumably they didn't sell very many? If they did, I'm sure they'd have found a suitable paint, even if the old one was Japan affected (and I haven't checked to see if it was).
I had a red/maroon V8 D2 and the colour grew on me! Didn't really choose it, but the dealer was a friend and knew I was looking for a new D2 and this had been sitting in their showroom for a while. They piled all sorts of discounts on it and sold it to me at a silly price! D4 XS MY12 Galway

I'll have none of this anti-Galway chat! It's perfect for me. That's all I care about. Why be a sheep and get one of the greys?

There are a few red D4's around and it was a popular D3 colour, and even more popular on D2 and D1...... Rimini just seems to have been dropped all of a sudden, so it is possibly a supply problem, as I can't recall a previous time when red was not an option on Discovery!

I was told today that the Firenze Red colour for the new Evoque range and subsequent LR models would be delayed until late October because of supply problems in Japan. Can anyone confirm if LR have completely abandoned Red?

A lot of the LR colours were suspended because of the disaster in Japan, most of them will be coming back once the supply problem has been sorted - Rimini red was replaced by Firenze but as you say it has been delayed until late October. IIRC two colours have been discontinued altogether - one of which was Bali blue.
Edit: This thread will give you more info.

It's here!!! I've flapped my paddles. First 40 miles are not really enough to give a detailed opinion but in general IT'S AWESOME!!!!!! There is so much going on - especially on the audio and GPS front. I was really surprised to see nav info appearing on the dashboard display as well as on the nav screen. Dealer left it in snow mode so I spent the first 10 miles wondering why I was getting low milage and it felt a bit gutless - Doh - but after I sorted it it felt superb. I'll put it hrough it's paces over the next few weeks but in the meantime, happy to gloat Let's face it, it will be tomorrow' chip paper in a couple of weeks when there are loads of them out there. Question - are the sidelights switched on permanently? I seem to recall an EU ruling which suggested all 2012 vehicles sold in the EU had to have permanently-on sidelights........
(Have to admit, I am envious! Enjoy!).

Daylight Running Lights (DRL) are a requirement only for new vehicles launched (ie 'type approved') after 07 Feb 2011.

Was passed today by a very dirty Galway Green D4 with one set of wheels on the grass central reservation, queue jumping and in a hurry on the A303 near Stonehenge.
Have to say I liked the colour - but 'Senior Management' sitting next to me said it would take too much effort to keep clean, so I should have one of the lighter colours! Almost regret telling her that dark shows the dirt more... D4 XS MY12 Galway

Go for the colour that you like. Dealers can be wrong. Dealer tried to talk me out of my choice, marmaris teal with tinted windows on a XS. When it arrived the boss man came down and addmitted they'd got it wrong and the colour was good. So much so that he said their next demonstrator would be that colour.
Even better only ever seen one other in marmaris teal so not another silver or grey sheep.
Would have prefered the alvastone red but was discontinued and didn't like rimi. Would have liked the firenza red as seen on an evoque with tinted windows, black roof and red and leather upholstrery. Lovely.

"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.
