Mr H, have you got anymore detailed pictures as to where you placed all the electrical boxes you moved. I was only asking the Landrover assist guy last week what the boxes did which were in the way. He said yes to moving them but not chopping any off the wires to re route or unplugging anything. Do you have more details on the whole procedure Question Did you do the install or was it TFC Question

Cheers Thumbs Up

I have easily read (assuming you can read English Rolling Eyes ) stickers on the inner wings next to each battery box advising that there is a second battery fitted Smile The End

Second battery in D4

I just mounted the Matzker second battery under the bonnet ( http://www.matzker.de/product_info.php?products_id=1011 ). There is a manual switch to separate the two batteries if necessary. During driving both battteries are charged. Works great, altough Matzker is extremely expensive. They seem to be very knowledgable tough...

But that's on a D3. The D4 second battery box is full of other electrical bits.
I am going to look at fitting mine tomorrow .

Sorry Glynne, only just saw this, for some reason I wasn't informed there'd been updates to this thread since my last post. Oh well you're all sorted now. But basically everything bar the alarm sounderstayed in the box. I was going to unplug and remove that ala D3 to make the alarm louder by using the horn, but then the D4 uses it to give feedback for the keyless entry if a door isn't shut when your try to lock the car, so I moved it tothe other side of the engine bay and mounted it on the FBH bracket.

Had to wiggle and twist a few of the components around a bit in order to repoisition them without cutting cables, but it all worked fine. I seem to remember one of the control boxes had a plastic cover on the D4, whereas on the D3 it didn't so that cover got removed for a littlewigle space, but don't ask me to remember what module it was Embarassed

Hi, no problem. I managed to keep everything in place including the alarm sounder, which you can just make out turned 90 degrees.

The silver box I fixed to the plastic casing with 2 nuts and bolts, which is holding it good and strong. I also wrapped the connections on the underside in self amalgamating tape to keep the worst of any moisture out.
This is the component which was in the large black plastic box.

The silver battery clamp bracket I had to grind down so that I didn't rub on the pipes.

I trimmed the top off the bolts on the terminals as the plastic lid was fouling on them when in place, which is why the 2 pieces of tape are in the picture. It all fits with no fouling now but I decided to leave the tape there as it's doing no harm.

There was the alarm sounder, which I left on its bracket, turned by 90 degrees and butted up to the brake / ABS unit or what ever its called. I cable tied it to the brake unit and the bracket is also held down with the battery.

I took the silver part out of the black plastic box which was bolted in the way ( you know what I mean Wink ) and bent the 2 ends in so that one can be bolted to the plastic casing, and the other doesn't then touch / rub on the pipes.

The other module was then moved and bolted in place in front of the alarm sounder.

And last of all that left the plug unit which was cable tied to some metal bracket which supports some cabling just to the left of the servo.

I didn't cut any cables, only unplugged. I did unwrap some of the harness and re tape it to suit the new positions of the parts.

I hope it makes sense. It was quite easy to do and after turning back on it didn't even have a fit about things being unplugged.
Any more questions plese ask Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
