woohoo
I think I need one following a quick diagnosis from TFC...and a complete hissy fit from the vehicle on Tuesday morning (bing, bongs, F in the gear selector display, Special Programes Off, HDC Unavailable, ESF, Minimal Gears Available, Vehicle Lowering message, loss of engine power...didn't realise the vehicle could display so many messages in one go ) The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

So I understand that the "CFT" fault that lots of owners have suffered can now be fixed, and the turbo brought back to life, with a 20 quid kit?
It would be interesting to see the work breakdown (tools, time necessary) for this to see if it's something that can be done and is worthwhile doing as a preventative measure....
Does this provide updated/improved actuator parts or just a replacement of the same?
Cheers for the info Nick,

trust me...I will be oh-so-gently winding DSL up about this in 90 minutes from now...and for the next 4 days... The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Just don't offer to give him a Piggy-Back John I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Yes indeed - as someone who has reluctantly began to accept that everything that could go wrong with his D3 will go wrong with it , I'd be interested in finding out if this is do-able as a preventative measure... 2001 D2 GS (I must be mad!)

Only if its the actuator rod that is seized... Normally, its the mechanism inside the turbo itself that seizes up

........ and he'll have to have the body off again for this £20 repair kit.
