I got this message while doing sustained off-roading (more than 5 hours) involving fair bit of suspension articulation. I was with a mate in a new RRS and that did the same thing at almost at the same time (10-15min before my D3). I didn't think the compressor would work much at all unless I used the manual height control, and this was not the case. Although the message went away soon enough, it was a little disconcerting to think it would overheat under those conditions - the ambient temperature wasn't even that high (~28degC)!
Has anyone encountered something similar?

If your doing a lot of articulation stuff, then air is going in an out of the suspension quite a lot, so the compressor has to work hard. Have a nice day!

I would have thought the air would compress within the suspension, and move between the left and right suspension through the cross link valves, but not out of the system? But having thought about it a bit more, perhaps it does lose air from time to time (and therefore also need to pump up at other times) in an effort to keep the car level..

Hoping someone will see this even though this thread is ancient! I'm getting the same message "suspension will raise when system cooled" when I turn the car on from cold. So seems like the heat sensor is telling the compressor it's overheating when it's not. Any ideas what's going on? The car is sitting on its bump stops at the moment. Is it possible to change the compressor heat sensor?
Thanks
